Alibaba Cloud has strengthened its position in the fast-evolving artificial intelligence space after being named a Market Leader in Omdia’s “Market Radar: Agentic AI Development Platform in Asia and Oceania, 2026” report.
The cloud computing arm of Alibaba Group was recognized as one of only five leaders out of 12 global vendors assessed in the study, underscoring its growing influence in enterprise AI across the region. Alibaba Cloud also earned the highest rating in five of the report’s seven categories: context engineering, model support, multi-agent framework, operation and lifecycle management, and open source and community.
In its assessment, Omdia cited Alibaba Cloud’s broad enterprise-grade capabilities as a key differentiator, noting that the company stands out among agent development platform providers for offering a comprehensive suite of tools that enable businesses to build and deploy their own AI agents effectively.
The recognition reflects Alibaba Cloud’s continued push to expand beyond traditional cloud services into end-to-end AI solutions. At the center of this strategy is AgentRun, its serverless agentic AI infrastructure platform launched in December 2025 and built on Alibaba Cloud’s Function Compute. According to the report, AgentRun enables users to create AI agents through both visual interfaces and advanced programming languages, making development more flexible for a wide range of users.
The platform also features multimodal retrieval-augmented generation capabilities, allowing support for text, image, and video understanding and generation. Alibaba Cloud said these features can help reduce the total cost of ownership for AI agents by as much as 60%, giving enterprises a more efficient path toward AI adoption.
Complementing this is Model Studio, Alibaba Cloud’s AI development platform that provides access to more than 140 models, including its proprietary Qwen and Wan models as well as third-party options. The company’s open-source Qwen model family has also gained significant traction worldwide, surpassing one billion downloads and spawning 200,000 derivative models. These models span text, visual, and multimodal functions, serving a wide range of business use cases.
The latest Omdia report also points to a rapidly expanding market for agentic AI across Asia and Oceania. It projects the region’s agentic AI software market to soar from $271 million in 2025 to $9.7 billion by 2030, representing a staggering compound annual growth rate of 105%. The forecast highlights how agentic AI is quickly becoming a strategic priority for enterprises seeking to accelerate digital transformation and improve operational efficiency.
This latest accolade adds to Alibaba Cloud’s momentum in the AI space. In 2025, the company was also named a market leader in Omdia’s “Market Radar: GenAI Cloud Titans in Asia & Oceania 2025” report, which recognized its generative AI strengths and broad product portfolio across the region.
With demand for intelligent automation and enterprise AI tools rising sharply, Alibaba Cloud’s latest recognition positions it as one of the major players shaping the next phase of AI development in Asia-Pacific
