The National Historical Commission of the Philippines (NHCP) and the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) will present “Musikalayaan 2025” at the Rizal Park Open-Air Auditorium in Manila on Thursday, in celebration of the country’s 127th Independence Day.
Spearheaded by the AFP’s Media and Civil Affairs Group (MCAG) under Col. Francel Margareth Padilla, who also serves as military spokesperson, the event highlights patriotism and national pride through music and performance.
With the theme “Pagtatanghal para sa Karagatan ng Pilipinas: Our Seas, Our Rights, Our Future,” the musical play aims to raise public awareness about the importance of defending the West Philippine Sea and upholding the country’s maritime sovereignty.
“This musical theatre play will serve as an avenue for defense agencies to enjoin the public to be proud of a nation blessed with a history of valor and gallantry,” Padilla said.
She added that the production hopes to inspire Filipinos to value national sovereignty and maritime heritage through the power of music.
The show features musical and dance numbers by personnel from the Philippine Army, Navy, Air Force, National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, and Coast Guard. Performers also include the Philippine Army Marching Band, Indayaw Dance Company from Signal Village National High School in Taguig City, and AFP artist reservists.
Admission is free, and the event will be broadcast live via DWDD 1134 kHz AFP Radio, allowing audiences nationwide to join in the Independence Day celebration.
