Adamson University left no doubt about its championship pedigree after dismantling Far Eastern University, 25-19, 25-19, 25-14, to clinch the 2025 Women’s V-League Collegiate Challenge title Friday at the Filoil EcoOil Center.
Bouncing back from a Game 2 defeat, the Lady Falcons turned the series-deciding match into a masterclass in focus and execution, capturing their fourth overall V-League crown — and their first since 2010.
“This win is all for God,” said head coach JP Yude. “The girls stuck to the plan from the very beginning. What we studied last night, they applied perfectly. They played with joy, focus, and happiness — that was what we lacked in Game 2.”
Adamson’s dominance was anchored on tournament MVP Shaina Nitura, who capped her stellar run with 17 points, 13 digs, and 10 receptions in the finale. The outside hitter, who averaged an astonishing 23.33 points across the series, credited their earlier setback as a turning point.
“Thank you, Lord, for the lessons,” said Nitura. “Our loss taught us so much as a team. Without it, we wouldn’t have grown this strong.”
Nigerian reinforcement Francess Mordi unleashed 19 points, including 18 off attacks, while Eloi Dote added 11 points built on three aces. Setter Fhei Sagaysay, named Best Setter of the tournament, tallied 23 excellent sets and seven digs.
With an 11-1 record to close the campaign, the Lady Falcons added another chapter to their storied legacy — joining their championship squads from 2008 and 2010 under coach Dulce Pante and the 2019 PVL Collegiate Conference title run with Trisha Genesis and coach Lerma Giron.
FEU’s Jaz Ellarina led the Lady Tamaraws with 11 points on four attacks, four blocks, and three aces, as the Morayta-based squad settled for another bridesmaid finish — their third straight after falling to CSB in 2023 and UST in 2024.
With a revitalized program and a new generation of stars, Adamson proved once again that its wings are built for soaring — especially when the stakes are highest.
