Philip Conrad Acop was proclaimed the new representative of the second district of Antipolo, Rizal following the results of the special election held Saturday.
The Commission on Elections said Acop secured 60,051 votes out of 82,796 ballots cast in the race.
The election was conducted to fill the congressional seat left vacant after the death of former lawmaker Romeo Acop in December 2025.
Romeo Acop had represented the district before he died from a heart attack, prompting the holding of a special poll.
The younger Acop will serve the remainder of the current term in the House of Representatives.
The term is scheduled to run until the end of the 20th Congress in 2028.
Five other candidates also contested the seat, including Dandin Infante, Reden Llaga, Ma. Trinidad Galang, Nathaniel Lobigas and Irvin Paulo Tapales.
Based on the election results released by the Commission on Elections, Llaga placed second with 12,054 votes, followed by Tapales with 10,080 votes, while the remaining candidates each received fewer than 1,000 votes.
