Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived in the United States on Tuesday ahead of talks with President Donald Trump focused on defense and strategic cooperation.
In a post on X, Zelenskyy said he would meet Trump, members of his administration and individuals who could help strengthen Ukraine’s defenses.
He identified anti-ballistic missile protection as Kyiv’s primary concern during the visit.
Zelenskyy said Ukraine also sought deeper strategic cooperation with the United States as the war continued.
The Ukrainian leader added that the meetings were intended to advance efforts toward peace.
No further details were immediately provided on the timing or agenda of his discussion with Trump.
Zelenskyy was also expected to attend a ceremony in Washington honoring Sen. Lindsey Graham.
He said the event would recognize Graham’s support for security and freedom across the transatlantic community and beyond.
