The next time Filipino motorists shop for car accessories, they may also find something useful for an unexpected power outage at home.
A partnership between Jackery and BLADE Auto Center is bringing portable power stations and solar panels into a nationwide automotive retail network, giving households another place to explore backup electricity options.
The move connects two needs that often overlap—staying powered on the road and keeping essential devices running at home. Equipment bought for a weekend camping trip could also help charge a phone or run a compatible laptop when electricity suddenly cuts out.
For remote workers, travelers and families, that flexibility can turn portable power from an occasional outdoor accessory into a practical part of everyday preparedness.
By making the equipment available through BLADE’s network of more than 50 locations nationwide, the partnership expands opportunities for customers to examine their options in person and choose a unit suited to their needs.
The lineup covers different uses. The compact Explorer 300D caters to laptop and mobile-device charging, while the Explorer 300 Plus and Explorer 500 V2 provide options for mobile workspaces and weekend travel. Customers with larger backup requirements can consider the Explorer 1000 V2 and Explorer 2000 V2.
Matching the equipment to its intended use remains essential. Keeping phones charged requires a different level of capacity from operating several appliances, and actual runtime depends on the connected devices and their electricity consumption.
Solar panels add another layer of flexibility, allowing compatible stations to recharge using sunlight when conditions permit. For users spending time away from conventional outlets, that provides an additional charging option.
The partnership also addresses the upfront expense through zero-interest installment plans of up to 12 months for eligible BDO and BPI credit card purchases, subject to applicable terms.
BLADE Auto Center business development officer Miles Lancelot Sy said the products can serve customers during outdoor adventures and at home. Meanwhile, Cognetics Inc. marketing and emerging businesses head Igue Bonifacio emphasized the goal of reaching more motorists and homeowners through additional stores.
The broader impact lies in making preparedness easier to fit into ordinary shopping decisions. Someone visiting an automotive store for road-trip essentials can now also consider how to keep work and communication going during a blackout.
That gives the partnership a purpose beyond expanding shelf space—helping more Filipinos prepare for the moments when a working outlet is suddenly out of reach.
