Yoon Eun-hye Revives Beloved “Princess Hours” Character Shin Chae-kyung

Korean actress Yoon Eun-hye delighted fans by revisiting her iconic role as Shin Chae-kyung from the hit 2006 K-drama Princess Hours (Goong). On Instagram, she shared photos of herself dressed in a school uniform similar to the one her character wore in the series.

“Goong 💕 Wow~~~~ 🥳 Shin Chae-kyung has been summoned~~~~!!! Complete 😂,” she captioned her post.

Fans quickly reacted with nostalgia, flooding the comments with love and memories.
“My all-time favorite K-Drama,” one user said.
“Fave forever. ❤️ Princess Hours introduced me to K-Dramas,” added another.

A vlog capturing her full transformation was also uploaded on her YouTube channel.

Princess Hours follows the story of art student Shin Chae-kyung, who is suddenly arranged to marry her classmate and crown prince Lee Shin, in an alternate world where the Korean monarchy still exists. The series starred Ju Ji-hoon, Kim Jeong-hoon, and Song Ji-hyo alongside Yoon Eun-hye.

In 2021, it was announced that a remake of the show is in development. Jae Dam Media, the company managing the original comic, partnered with Group 8, producers of the original series.

“It’s important to continue creating new projects, but we also think that it is important from an intellectual property standpoint to actively breathe new life into good projects that already exist,” said Hwang Nam Yong, CEO of Jae Dam Media.
“Goong will become an important case in this new IP ‘boom.’”

Princess Hours was a massive success not just in South Korea but also across Asia, contributing significantly to the rise of the Korean Wave (Hallyu).
