Bicol Saro Party-list Representative Bryan Raymund Yamsuan urged personnel of the House of Representatives to reaffirm their commitment to the public during the first flag-raising ceremony of 2025.
“Let good governance be our resolution. Anuman ang inyong posisyon, ipakita ninyo that the House of Representatives is truly for the Filipino people,” he said.
Yamsuan, who served as the House deputy secretary general in 2019, emphasized the importance of teamwork and mentorship among the House staff. He encouraged his former colleagues to assist and guide new employees, helping them develop the right attitudes and practices—qualities he regarded as the most valuable legacy public servants can leave behind.
He also underscored the significance of flag-raising ceremonies. “Flag raising ceremony is more than a tradition; it is a powerful reminder of why we do what we do and who we are doing it for,” he said.
Yamsuan urged attendees to remain persistent in their careers while upholding humility and integrity.
“Do not lose yourself along the way. Kasi habang tumataas iyong posisyon natin sa gobyerno, parang nawawala sa atin yung sense of propriety minsan,” he warned.
He concluded his message by encouraging government staff to approach the new year with optimism.
“Today, as we return to our stations and begin our new work year, welcome this year with a mindset that radiates joy and fresh hope—for a better day, a better year, and a better future for all Filipino people,” he said.
