ING Hubs Philippines received recognition at the Department of Education’s Partners’ Appreciation Night for the organization’s continued commitment to supporting education through partnerships and community initiatives.
ING Hubs Philippines is moving beyond traditional donation drives by building long-term partnerships designed to address the changing needs of public schools and their students.
For many organizations, supporting a school may begin and end with handing over supplies, computers, or financial assistance. ING Hubs Philippines is taking a different approach—one that involves listening, returning, and staying committed long after the first donation has been delivered.
Over the past three years, the organization has shown that meaningful support is not measured by a single turnover ceremony. It is built through sustained collaboration, employee involvement, and programs that evolve alongside the communities they serve.
This philosophy is at the heart of Orange Learning Hubs, ING Hubs Philippines’ long-term education initiative that began through its partnership with Dr. Artemio E. Natividad Elementary School (DANES) in Taguig City.
Now, the organization is bringing the model to F. Benitez Elementary School (FBES) in Makati City, opening a new chapter in its effort to create safer, more accessible, and more inspiring learning environments for Filipino students.

A Partnership That Grew With the School
At DANES, ING Hubs Philippines did not arrive with a fixed, one-size-fits-all program. Instead, it worked with school leaders to identify pressing needs and respond to them one initiative at a time.
One of the early priorities was improving access to safe washing facilities. ING Hubs Philippines supported the construction of two roof-covered washing areas and other facility upgrades, helping DANES improve its rating from two stars to three stars under the Department of Education’s Comprehensive Water, Sanitation and Hygiene in Schools Program.
The organization also established an Orange Corner, a dedicated reading and learning area that now serves nearly 1,500 students.
Recognizing that many learners also needed basic school essentials, ING Hubs Philippines employees organized an Adopt-a-Student Donation Drive. The employee-led initiative provided school supplies and hygiene kits to nearly 1,800 students from DANES and nearby partner schools.
Employees also took part directly in volunteer activities, including the construction and improvement of school facilities—turning the partnership into more than a corporate program and making it a shared commitment among members of the organization.
A New School, A Different Set of Needs
At F. Benitez Elementary School, the starting point is different.
Initial discussions with school officials revealed familiar challenges: limited reading materials, outdated supplies, and facilities requiring basic repairs and maintenance before larger programs could be introduced.
Rather than simply copying the projects implemented at DANES, ING Hubs Philippines is developing a partnership tailored to FBES.
The initial activities include the creation of an Orange Corner, participation in Brigada Eskwela, and employee volunteer programs. Infrastructure improvements and other school-readiness initiatives are expected to follow as the partnership develops.
This customized approach reflects the central idea behind Orange Learning Hubs: schools may face similar challenges, but each community requires its own solutions.
Reaching Classrooms Beyond Metro Manila
ING Hubs Philippines’ education initiatives also extend beyond its partnerships with DANES and FBES.
The organization donated laptops to the Department of Education through the IT and Business Process Association of the Philippines, helping expand digital learning opportunities for students and teachers in public schools.
Through the Aboitiz Foundation’s AuroraPH program, ING Hubs Philippines also helped bring solar power, internet connectivity, and learning support to four last-mile public schools in Doña Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan.
These efforts were recognized during the Department of Education’s Partners’ Appreciation Night in May 2026, where ING Hubs Philippines was honored for its continued contribution to education and community development.
The organization was also named Global Capability Center of the Year at the 2026 IBPAP SOLAIA Awards.
The Real Impact Begins After the Donation
For ING Hubs Philippines, supporting education is not about completing isolated projects or staging one-time outreach activities. It is about building relationships that can grow as the needs of schools, teachers, and students change.
The organization believes lasting progress is more likely when companies take the time to listen to communities, involve employees, and remain present beyond the first intervention.
As Orange Learning Hubs expands, ING Hubs Philippines hopes to work with more schools, volunteers, and partner organizations to create learning environments where young Filipinos can develop the confidence, skills, and opportunities they need to succeed.
