Representatives of 37 businesses from Region 6 (Western Visayas) received training through the Department of Trade and Industry’s (DTI) Moonshot TNK ASPIRE Startup Bootcamp, aimed at helping them scale up and become major players in their sectors.
Held on Aug. 28, the program catered to startups in early-stage manufacturing, information and communication, agriculture, and services. Participants learned essential business skills, including business identity, team building, design thinking, business model development, digital marketing, startup finance, and pitching.
Those who complete the bootcamp can join the Moonshot TNK MentorMatch Pitching Competition, connecting them with potential investors. The initiative supports Filipino entrepreneurs aged 18 and above, from prototype to minimum viable product stages.
“This aligns with the Innovative Startup Act, which aims to foster an environment where scalable, innovative enterprises can thrive,” DTI said.
Trade and Industry Secretary Cristina Roque emphasized the program’s role in inclusive economic growth:

By investing in our regional startups, we are diversifying our economic base and creating new engines of growth in every province to ensure our progress is resilient and sustainable for years to come.”
