Authorities here seized a total of P13.6 million worth of illegal drugs from a welder during a dawn buy-bust operation Wednesday.
The 49-year-old suspect was in possession of around two kilos of illegal drugs when agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, Naval Forces Central, Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit, Cebu City Police Office Station 10, and PNP Drug Enforcement Group carried out the sting operations.
Authorities cornered the suspect at Sitio Kamanggahan, Barangay Labangon in Cebu City at around 1:35 a.m.
Confiscated during the operation were two packs of shabu, buy-bust money, packaging materials, a cellular phone, and a motorcycle used by the suspect.
The pieces of evidence were submitted to the PDEA-7 Regional Office Laboratory for chemical analysis and proper disposition while cases were prepared against the suspect.
PDEA-7, in a report, said it placed the suspect under surveillance for three weeks after receiving information from an informant that the suspect can dispose of half a kilo of shabu per week. (PNA)
