BAGUIO CITY — The second week of the 75th Januarius Fil-Am Golf Invitational swings into action Monday, December 8, as hundreds of golfers brace for not just tight fairways and tricky greens, but also Baguio’s biting 13°C chill that has tested players over the past several days.

This year’s battles unfold across two contrasting courses: the short but deceptively demanding par-61 Baguio Country Club (BCC) layout, and the longer par-69 Camp John Hay (CJH) track known for its dog-leg challenges and unforgiving greens.

A massive field of 714 golfers from 151 teams is vying for supremacy in this landmark edition, backed by title sponsor Januarius Holdings, Inc., along with major partners Toyota, Mazda, Malbon’s Phil, and Oroderm.

Defending Fil Championship titlist Eastridge-Primehomes Team 1 returns to headline a competitive field that includes last year’s second runner-up Januarius Golf Team 1, Batangas Barakos-Supremo, and Spes Team 1.

In the Am Championship, Eastridge-Primehomes Team 2, runner-up in last year’s storied tournament that dates back to 1949, is expected to mount a serious bid for the crown. EGC Primehomes M2, Team CAGC Team M, and local favorites John Hay are also eyeing podium finishes.

Championship and Flight A competitions tee off Tuesday, December 9, with Fil teams opening at Camp John Hay before shifting to Baguio Country Club for the final two days. The Am side starts at BCC for two days before closing at CJH.

Monday’s opening salvo features lower flights — B, D, E, and F — in both Fil and Am divisions, setting the tone for a cold but fiery week of competition in the country’s longest-running amateur golf tournament.
