Visa and Maya, the Philippines’ top digital bank and fintech platform, have partnered to introduce a new feature in the Maya app that allows users to fund their accounts using Visa cards issued overseas. This collaboration simplifies cross-border transactions by letting users pull funds from foreign Visa cards and load them directly into their Maya wallets.
The new service is designed to benefit overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), expatriates, and global travelers who need a convenient way to manage their money across countries. With just a few taps, users can now transfer funds from international Visa cards into their Maya accounts and use them for spending, saving, or investing within the Philippines.
“This partnership continues to grow stronger, and this latest development helps expand the flexibility of digital payments,” said Jeffrey Navarro, Visa country manager for the Philippines. “By enabling account funding from foreign Visa cards, we’re giving Maya users more power and convenience to manage their money securely and efficiently.”
Maya continues to lead the way in digital financial services in the country. Visa previously recognized the platform for achieving the highest volumes in both e-commerce and contactless payments between 2021 and 2024, as well as being the leading merchant acquirer in terms of transaction volume. This latest collaboration reflects both companies’ shared commitment to driving innovation in payments and enhancing user experiences.
“With this update, we’re making cross-border fund transfers more accessible for Filipinos and OFWs,” said Khurram Malik, group chief commercial officer at Maya. “Maya has transformed how we manage money—this feature brings the same level of ease and flexibility to international transactions.”
