Vina Morales is making her highly anticipated return to GMA Network after more than two decades.
The singer-actress shared her excitement about stepping back into the network, admitting that she felt “butterflies in my stomach” as she arrived.
“Sobrang, alam mo iyung mixed emotions? I had butterflies in my stomach going down the car noong nasa basement na,” Morales said in an interview with Lhar Santiago on 24 Oras Weekend on Saturday.
“Ninenerbyos ako in a way dahil excited ako,” she continued.
Morales, who last appeared on GMA in the Sunday noontime musical show SOP, will now star in the upcoming series “Cruz vs. Cruz”. The new drama is set to feature her alongside longtime friend and fellow “That’s Entertainment” alum, Gladys Reyes.
Although the two have shared the screen before, this will be their first time working together on a television series.
“Cruz vs. Cruz” will also star Neil Ryan Sese, Pancho Magno, Lexi Gonzales, Kristoffer Martin, Elijah Alejo, and Caprice Cayetano.
The series, based on a true story, revolves around two families and the conflicts that arise between them. Morales portrays Thelma Ruiz-Cruz, a common-law wife caught in a complicated relationship.
“Lahat maka-re-relate… it’s based on a true to life story,” Morales said. “Ako iyung OFW nurse na kumbaga iisang lalaki ang aming minahal.”
As for her future plans with the network, Morales said she’s ready to return to GMA’s musical shows. “Anytime. Basta ako, ready na ready,” she said.
