The death toll from the twin earthquakes that struck Venezuela has climbed to 3,889, while 16,740 others were injured, National Assembly President Jorge Rodriguez said Thursday.
Rodriguez, in an update posted on X, said thousands of residents remained displaced after the disaster.
He said government and relief teams had provided assistance to 86,794 affected families.
Authorities also rescued 6,462 people from areas hit by the earthquakes.
Rodriguez said 856 buildings were damaged, while 190 structures collapsed due to the powerful tremors.
Relief operations had distributed 9,603 metric tons of food and more than 12.1 million liters of water to affected communities.
He said 28,836 patients had received medical treatment, while 30,076 personnel, 29,344 volunteers and 3,931 foreign rescue workers had been deployed for response operations.
Authorities also set up 89 temporary camps for displaced residents and recorded 1,142 aftershocks after two earthquakes measuring magnitude 7.2 and 7.5 struck Venezuela on June 24, just 39 seconds apart, according to the US Geological Survey.
