Vantage Energy, the first affiliate retail electricity supplier of the Manuel V. Pangilinan-led Manila Electric Company (Meralco), is making a significant move to strengthen its presence in Mindanao through new strategic partnerships with local food manufacturing and distribution companies.
In line with its commitment to empowering customer choice, Vantage Energy has signed retail electricity supply agreements with Philippine Spring Water Resources, Inc. (PSWRI), the producer of the Nature’s Spring bottled water brand, and Cagayan Corn Products Corporation (CCPC), a leading manufacturer of cornstarch, corn grits, and animal feed ingredients.
These partnerships mark a major step for Vantage Energy as it brings Meralco’s renowned industry expertise and reliable energy solutions to support the growing power demands in Mindanao.

The expansion follows the Department of Energy’s (DOE) rollout of the Retail Competition and Open Access (RCOA) framework in Mindanao. With the region now integrated into the Competitive Retail Electricity Market (CREM), large electricity consumers—those with an average peak demand of at least 500 kW over the past year—can now choose their retail electricity provider, similar to those in Luzon and Visayas.
RCOA is designed to boost competition and efficiency in the electricity sector, allowing eligible customers to benefit from improved reliability and more competitive pricing.
As part of its broader strategy, Vantage Energy is also committed to educating stakeholders in Mindanao about the advantages of CREM. By promoting informed decision-making among electricity users, the company aims to support the region’s long-term energy sustainability.
