Alas Pilipinas Women are making strategic moves to bolster their roster for what promises to be a demanding 2025 season.
The national team has extended formal invitations to two of the country’s top volleyball talents—Van Sickle of Petro Gazz and Davison of PLDT—as part of their preparations for a jam-packed schedule.
PVL president and PNVF National Teams chairman, Ricky Palou, confirmed that both Van Sickle and Davison are being pursued to add firepower to Alas Pilipinas’ ranks.
Van Sickle is currently affiliated with USA Volleyball and Davison is with Volleyball Canada.
But Palou made it clear that once they express their full commitment, the necessary federation transfers will be set in motion.
The 2025 campaign will see the team participate in multiple prestigious events, including the AVC tournaments, the SEA V.League, and the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in Bangkok, Thailand.
With such a packed calendar ahead, the Philippine National Volleyball Federation (PNVF) is leaving no stone unturned in fortifying its roster with world-class players.
“We want the commitment from them. If they’re committed to play for the national team, we’ll work on the transfer of federations from the US to the Philippines. If they’re committed and they decide to play for the national team,” Palou explained.
Both Van Sickle and Davison had shown interest in joining the national team last year, but their federation transfers were not finalized at the time. However, Palou confirmed that the official invitations have now been sent, and the ball is in the players’ court.
If both players commit to wearing the Philippine colors, their addition will be a game-changer for the team, bringing in invaluable international experience as Alas Pilipinas gears up for its most demanding international season yet.
