UnionBank has introduced Mobile Tap to Pay, a groundbreaking feature on its multi-awarded UnionBank Online app—setting a new benchmark in digital banking. Designed for speed, security, and everyday convenience, this innovation lets customers pay with just a tap of their phone, no wallet required.

Once activated, Mobile Tap to Pay allows UnionBank customers to make seamless, contactless payments using any NFC-enabled Android device linked to their UnionBank Visa Debit or Credit Card. By simply tapping their phone at any Visa contactless terminal worldwide, transactions are completed instantly—without the need for a physical card or extra steps.

“With Mobile Tap to Pay, UnionBank is reimagining how Filipinos experience payments. This is more than just a new feature—it’s a customer-first innovation that delivers speed, security, and simplicity in every transaction,” said Albert Cuadrante, UnionBank’s Chief Marketing & Experience Officer. “By making digital payments as easy as a tap, we’re empowering our customers to live and move with confidence.”

The feature is easily accessible. Once set up, users can launch Tap to Pay directly from the app’s login screen, with instant access through biometric authentication. Customers can also link or unlink their preferred debit or credit cards, giving them full control over their payment options.

Security remains at the core of this innovation. Each transaction is safeguarded by Visa’s tokenization technology, which replaces sensitive card details with unique, encrypted codes. This ensures customer data stays secure and is never shared with merchants.

UnionBank is among the first banks in the Philippines to integrate native Mobile Tap to Pay functionality into its app, underscoring its role as a leader in digital financial solutions.

“Whether it’s grabbing a coffee, catching a ride, or shopping abroad, Mobile Tap to Pay keeps pace with our customers’ lifestyles—making every transaction faster and stress-free,” Cuadrante added.

Available at millions of Visa contactless terminals worldwide, this feature offers customers global convenience with UnionBank’s trusted local reliability.

UnionBank’s Mobile Tap to Pay is more than a new way to pay—it’s a step toward a smarter, more seamless, and future-ready banking experience.
