The United Arab Emirates (UAE) reported that its air defense systems successfully intercepted six ballistic missiles and 125 drones launched from Iran on Thursday.

The UAE Ministry of Defense said that seven missiles were detected, with six destroyed in midair, while one fell within the country’s territory.

Officials added that 131 drones were detected, of which 125 were intercepted, and six landed inside the UAE.

Since the start of Iranian attacks on February 28, the ministry said its defenses have detected 196 missiles, destroying 181, while 13 fell into the sea and two inside the country.

Air defense systems also intercepted 1,001 out of 1,072 drones, with 71 falling within UAE borders. Eight cruise missiles were also detected and destroyed.

The ministry reported that the attacks killed three people of Pakistani, Nepali, and Bangladeshi origin, and injured 94 others with minor wounds.

Authorities emphasized that the UAE armed forces remain fully prepared to confront threats and protect the country’s security, stability, and sovereignty.

The strikes are part of a broader conflict, with Iran targeting Israel and Gulf nations hosting US military assets in retaliation for a US-Israeli campaign that has killed hundreds, including Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and senior Iranian military officials.
