MANILA – Typhoon Rosal, internationally known as Champi, remains inside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR), while a separate low-pressure area (LPA) is being monitored outside the country’s weather monitoring boundary, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 8 a.m. update on Friday, October 23, PAGASA confirmed that Typhoon Rosal continues to be monitored within PAR.
Meanwhile, weather forecasters are also tracking a separate weather disturbance identified as LPA 10b outside PAR.
PAGASA said the LPA is unlikely to develop into a tropical depression within the next 24 hours.
Despite its low probability of development, the weather disturbance remains under monitoring for possible changes in its intensity and movement.
The weather bureau advised the public, particularly residents in areas potentially affected by Typhoon Rosal, to remain vigilant and regularly check official tropical cyclone bulletins and weather advisories.
Residents are also encouraged to prepare emergency supplies, monitor local government announcements, and follow evacuation instructions when necessary.
PAGASA emphasized the importance of relying on verified weather information as authorities continue monitoring both weather systems.
