The total damage to the agriculture and infrastructure sectors from successive typhoons in September has reached P1.7 billion.
According to National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) data as of Saturday, September 27, agricultural damages exceed P914 million, while infrastructure losses surpass P822 million. These are attributed to Typhoons Opong, Nando, and Marisol, along with the effects of the southwest monsoon.
Cagayan Valley (Region 2) suffered the heaviest agricultural damage at P807 million, followed by Western Visayas with P43 million, Cagayan at P4.64 million, and Mimaropa at half a million pesos.
The entire Cagayan province has been placed under a state of calamity, along with Pagudpud in Ilocos Norte, Ibajay in Aklan, and Pagalungan in Maguindanao del Sur.
