Two Chinese fugitives arrested at NAIA-3 for crimes

The Bureau of Immigration apprehended two Chinese fugitives at Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 in Pasay City on February 15 and 16 as they attempted to travel to Malaysia.

In a statement on Thursday, authorities revealed that the individuals were classified as undesirable aliens and had been listed on a watchlist due to criminal cases in China.

According to Bureau of Immigration records, 37-year-old Chinese national Huang Xianjun, who was stopped on February 15, had an arrest warrant for telecommunications fraud. He was allegedly part of a syndicate involved in love scams designed to deceive victims into making fraudulent investments.

The second individual, 23-year-old Li Xiao Long, was apprehended on February 16 and was found to have an active warrant for economic crimes. Authorities also discovered that he had previously worked at a Philippine offshore gaming operator (POGO) in Manila, had his work visa revoked, and was subsequently placed on the Bureau of Immigration watchlist.

Both suspects are currently detained at the BI custodial facility in Camp Bagong Diwa, Taguig City, while awaiting deportation proceedings.
