United States President Donald Trump stood by Washington’s military actions against Iran, saying the campaign would have proceeded regardless of possible retaliation.

Speaking at the White House on Monday, Trump downplayed concerns over whether the United States had anticipated Iran’s response, stressing that such risks would not have altered the decision.

He said the move was necessary and not dependent on forecasts of how Iran might respond.

Trump noted that several Gulf countries had come under attack following the escalation, including Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Bahrain.

He said the strikes on these countries were unexpected and claimed that experts had not predicted such developments.

Despite the retaliation, Trump maintained that US operations had significantly weakened Iran’s military capabilities, saying much of its missiles and drones had been destroyed.
