The trough of a tropical depression outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility (PAR) will bring rains over parts of the country on Wednesday, the state weather bureau said.
The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said Eastern Visayas, Caraga, Davao Oriental, Misamis Oriental and Camiguin will experience scattered rain showers and thunderstorms due to the weather system.
PAGASA warned that moderate to heavy rains may trigger flash floods or landslides in vulnerable areas.
As of 3 a.m., the tropical depression was located about 1,920 kilometers east of Southern Luzon.
The weather disturbance is expected to enter the PAR within the week and will be given the local name “Queenie” once it does.
Meanwhile, the rest of the country may experience isolated rain showers or thunderstorms due to localized thunderstorms.
Moderate winds and moderate seas are expected over the northern and eastern sections of Luzon.
Elsewhere, winds will be light to moderate, with slight to moderate sea conditions, PAGASA said.
