Tropang Giga claim 6th straight victim in Gin Kings

CALVIN Oftana unloaded 32 points and grabbed seven steals to power TNT Batang Giga over Ginebra San Miguel, 91-86, Friday night in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup at the Philsports Arena.

Oftana found his range early on, banging in six of 12 attempts from the three-point zone as TNT added Ginebra to its growing list of victims that now stands at six in a row.

Thanks, too, to Rondae Hollis-Jefferson who chipped in 25 points, 13 rebounds and an unquantifiable court presence that allowed Tropang Giga to improve to 6-2.

It was also a repeat of TNT mastery over Ginebra since they squared off in the Governors’ Cup finals late last year.

Hollis-Jefferson went 13-of-13 from the free throw line as Tropang Giga pulled down the Gin Kings to 6-4.

Former TNT mainstay Mikey Williams was at hand to watch his former teammates play, prompting him to say he “wished I could compete with them.”
