Eastern conquers Terrafirma, tows 2 others to next round

HONG Kong Eastern pounded Terrafirma, 134-110, on Friday to annex a spot in the PBA Commissioner’s Cup quarterfinal at the Philsports Arena.

The league’s guest team managed to extend its stay despite the knee injury suffered by its import Chris McLaughlin which kept him out most of the game.

It was Eastern’s seventh win in 10 games, tying Northport and Converge and opening the door for them to the next round.

Coach Mensur Bajramovic said Eastern still has to work even harder to reach their goal of landing in the top two spots after the 12-game eliminations – which go with it a twice-to-beat incentive.

“For now, we are still looking at the playoffs for the first two spots,” said Bajramovic, Eastern’s Bosnian mentor.
