TikTok Shop has unveiled its newest Global Safety Report, underscoring the platform’s growing commitment to creating a safer, more trustworthy, and more supportive space for shoppers and sellers.
The report reflects TikTok Shop’s strengthened approach to protecting users while uplifting Filipino micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) navigating the country’s fast-growing digital commerce landscape.
Yves Gonzalez, TikTok Shop’s Head of Public Policy for the Philippines, said the platform’s priority remains clear: ensuring a worry-free experience for everyone who shops or sells on the app. “Safety has always been central to how we operate.
This report reaffirms our investment in tools and policies that protect our community and help Filipino sellers and buyers thrive with confidence,” he noted.
From January to June 2025 alone, TikTok Shop prevented over 70 million product listings from going live globally due to non-compliance. It also removed more than 200,000 prohibited or restricted products already online and deactivated over 700,000 seller accounts for policy violations.
E-commerce features were stripped from more than 2 million creators who failed to meet platform standards. These actions combine advanced technology, human review, and strict Community Guidelines to keep the environment safe and authentic.
In the Philippines, TikTok Shop has rolled out safety and education initiatives tailored to local needs. Its #TikTokShopSmart campaign teaches users how to spot credible sellers, read descriptions and reviews carefully, and avoid scams. Partnerships with the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) and Intellectual Property Office of the Philippines (IPOPHL) further guide entrepreneurs on compliant and responsible online selling. Programs like TikTok Shop Academy and the @sellwithtiktokshop_ph page provide ongoing updates to help MSMEs stay informed and competitive.
Beyond prevention, TikTok Shop continues to build trust across the entire shopping journey. The platform manages product recalls with government partners and assures buyers of free returns, advanced refunds, and a 90-day money-back guarantee for defective products. Its 24/7 customer support—through live agents and automated tools—ensures concerns are addressed promptly.
Through these global and localized efforts, TikTok Shop reinforces its commitment to transparency, accountability, and user confidence. For Filipino sellers, especially MSMEs, the platform’s strengthened safety measures create an environment where sustainable growth is not only possible but encouraged. For shoppers, the result is a digital marketplace that is safer, smarter, and more reliable than ever.
