Ferdinand Marcos Jr. if the investigation into alleged infrastructure corruption failed to hold senior figures accountable.
In an interview, Tiangco said his earlier warning to the administration remained in place amid what he described as the lack of charges stemming from the flood control controversy.
He said he hoped Ombudsman Jesus Crispin Remulla would act independently and pursue cases without protecting anyone involved.
Pressed on what he would do if there were still no developments by the end of January, Tiangco said he might be forced to make what he called a “painful decision,” noting his personal and family ties to the President.
Tiangco said any reconsideration would depend on who would be charged and the circumstances surrounding the cases that might be filed.
Lawmakers allied with House leadership criticized Tiangco’s repeated claims, with Manila Rep. Bienvenido Abante Jr. accusing him of making unverified allegations that fueled political divisions.
Tiangco, who previously worked closely with Marcos during the 2022 campaign, later said he was willing to testify under oath if his statements were cited in impeachment-related complaints, while maintaining his call for accountability across the political spectrum.
