Most areas of the Philippines can expect isolated rain showers and thunderstorms on Saturday as easterlies and localized thunderstorm activity continue to influence the country’s weather, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA).
In its 4 a.m. weather bulletin, PAGASA said the Davao Region will experience cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms due to the prevailing easterlies, or warm winds coming from the Pacific Ocean.
The weather bureau warned residents in affected areas to remain alert for possible flash floods and landslides, particularly during periods of moderate to heavy rainfall.
Meanwhile, the Bicol Region, Eastern Visayas, and Caraga are expected to see partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms, especially during the afternoon and evening, also due to the easterlies.
The rest of the country will experience similar weather conditions, with localized thunderstorms likely to trigger brief but potentially intense downpours.
PAGASA added that light to moderate winds and slight to moderate sea conditions will prevail across the archipelago, making sea travel generally safe but subject to sudden weather changes during thunderstorms.
