2025 TGR Philippine Cup Overall Winners
The 2025 TOYOTA GAZOO Racing Philippine Cup (TGR Philippine Cup) roared to a dramatic close at Clark International Speedway, celebrating not just fast laps and checkered flags, but a season that pushed Philippine motorsport to new heights.
By the end of three electrifying race weekends, three drivers stood atop their classes: Russel Cabrera of Toyota Team Cebu – Standard Insurance in the Super Sporting Class, Jesse Garcia of Obengers Racing – Toyota Balintawak in the Sporting Class, and rookie standout Luis Moreno of the Toyota Gazoo Racing Philippines Novice Team. Obengers Racing also sealed their dominance with the Team Championship title.

A weekend of high-speed milestones
The final weekend wasn’t just about crowning champions. It also marked the circuit debut of the much-anticipated Tamaraw OMR Concept. Piloted by former Vios Cup champions and GR development driver Aaron Guevara, the homegrown machine proved it could hang with the best—clocking lap times comparable to the Vios CVT OMRs and even outpacing a GR 86 and Vios OMR Legacy car in a drag showdown.
“Developing an OMR vehicle in the Philippines is no easy feat, but the Tamaraw is already showing incredible potential,” said TMP GR Section Supervisor JC Gaon. “With each upgrade, it gets safer, sharper, and more exciting.”

Beyond the sprint
The weekend also brought back the fan-favorite Endurance Race, where TMP President Masando Hashimoto claimed his first-ever victory, much to the delight of the paddock. Meanwhile, Vios OMR racers fought wheel-to-wheel in the Sprint Race, and GR owners showed off their machines in the GR Yaris, Supra, and 86 Club Race.
For those with a passion for digital speed, the 2025 TGR Philippines eSports GT Championship kicked off its qualifiers, giving sim racers the chance to prove they have what it takes to become the country’s next virtual racing star.

More than just racing
As the engines cooled, the festival atmosphere shifted gears to music. Indie-pop band Over October took the stage, filling the speedway with energy before the official awarding ceremony.
The season itself was a highlight reel: the introduction of the Legacy Class, a rare city street race in Race Weekend 2, and the Tamaraw OMR’s official sprint debut in Race Weekend 3. “The 2025 season is one for the books,” said TMP Assistant Vice President for Marketing Services Andy Ty. “We’re grateful to everyone who made it possible—and we’re only getting started.”
