Cloudy skies and rain continue to affect large parts of the country on Friday as three weather systems prevail, according to the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa).

Pagasa said the shear line, the northeast monsoon or amihan, and the easterlies are influencing weather conditions nationwide, with varying effects throughout the day.

The shear line is affecting parts of southern Luzon, bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Bicol Region, Quezon, Rizal, Laguna, Batangas, Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, and Romblon.

Weather forecasters said the axis of the shear line is expected to move northward by Friday afternoon, extending rainy conditions to Aurora, Quirino, and Isabela.

The northeast monsoon is also prevailing over northern Luzon, causing cloudy skies with light rain over Cagayan Valley, Apayao, Kalinga, Mountain Province, and Ifugao.

Metro Manila, the Ilocos Region, Central Luzon, the Cordillera Administrative Region, and the rest of Calabarzon are forecast to experience partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated light rain due to the amihan.

Meanwhile, the easterlies are bringing cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms over the Visayas, Northern Mindanao, Caraga, Davao Region, and Soccsksargen, while Pagasa said it is not monitoring any weather disturbances at this time.
