The Philippine Coast Guard in Bicol (PCG-5) reported that thousands of passengers and cargoes are stranded in Albay, Masbate, and Sorsogon ports. A total of 2,435 passengers and 1,167 rolling cargoes remain unable to depart.
About 10 vessels are anchored for safety, while another 10 are taking shelter, and 901 rolling cargoes are held at ports, the Coast Guard said.
PCG-Bicol Commander Commodore Ivan Roldan said all stations are coordinating with municipal and provincial disaster offices to implement preventive measures for areas under Tropical Cyclone Wind Signal No. 1.
The majority of stranded travelers are in Matnog, Sorsogon, with smaller numbers at Pilar and Castilla, Sorsogon; Tabaco and Pioduran, Albay; Pasacao, Camarines Sur; and Mobo, Masbate.
Roldan added that 391 deployable response groups are on alert, backed by 11 land vehicles and 20 floating units ready for emergency deployment.
Authorities continue to monitor river systems and areas near Mayon Volcano for potential mudflows and other hazards, emphasizing early warnings and maritime safety amid the storm.
