The Mind Museum marks anniversary with after-hours science and exploration

The Mind Museum is turning 13.

Since it opened in March 2012, science has come alive as the museum welcomed curious minds, young and young at heart, from all walks of life to a fun learning journey exploring our hands-on exhibits and programs. It has welcomed over 2.5 million guests but it has stayed fresh, thanks to the growing support from the public.

Among the crowd favorites are Stan, our resident t.rex fossil, Static Ball, which lets you experience the power of static electricity, Butanding, our life-size whale shark, Tunnel Craft at the Universe Gallery, Immersive Sea of Digital Art (ISDA) where you can watch your art come to life on screen, Mind Moving Studios, demos and experiments by resident scientists and many more.

To mark this milestone, a weekend of curiosity-driven experiences will happen on March 14 to 16. With the theme “After Hours,” this celebration promises a unique blend of science, fun social engagement, and discovery, including a special Pi Day celebration, an extended museum experience, and interactive birthday games, all happening at night.

Pi Day and MindPub
At the Canopy Plaza, The Mind Museum kicks off the celebration on March 14, Pi Day, with a series of fun and engaging activities centered around the magical number Pi.

  • Pi-Day (4 p.m.-6 p.m.) – Passersby at Canopy Plaza can get a free pizza slice in partnership with Angel’s Pizza by writing a pepperoni “Pi-ku” (a Pi-inspired haiku).
  • MindPub Quiz Night: Pi in Pop Culture (6 p.m.-9 p.m.) – Test your knowledge on the number Pi as it appears in music, art, films, and science. (Program fee: P300, inclusive of food and drinks in partnership with Dot Coffee, Chingu Cafe, and Locally, plus a free access to Mind Rover).

Bond with the whole family and access The Mind Museum’s over 250 interactive exhibits, catch planetarium shows and nature films, and witness special science demonstrations by resident scientists. Join our Mind Movers on a guided tour of the night sky to learn about the connection between the cycles of the cosmos and cycles of human lives in one of our educational programs, Cosmic Chat.

Admission promo
The Mind Museum also offers exclusive birthday admission promo—get four  All-Day Passes for only P2,200, available until March 30 and valid for visits until June 1.

Beyond the celebrations, the anniversary weekend also serves as a fundraising opportunity to support  the Mind Rover, the museum’s mission to bring interactive science experiences to communities. And to make it even more special, the museum offers an exclusive opportunity on March 14-16 for the science-on-wheels to be accessible to the public just by donating at least P100 to the museum.
