The Tiny Chef Show may have been relatively unknown to many at first, but its recent cancellation has caused a surprising wave of emotion online.
The stop-motion animated series aired on Nickelodeon starting in 2022 and quickly earned critical acclaim, winning multiple nominations and awards including Children’s and Family Emmy Awards.
Instead of a typical announcement, the show’s creators shared a short animated video titled ‘Tiny Chef needs your help’ where Tiny Chef, the show’s little green host, finds out his show has been cancelled after three seasons.
At first, he’s excited and ready to pitch new ideas, but the call from Nickelodeon delivers the bad news. In the video, Tiny Chef is shocked and saddened. He pleads, reminding them, “But we won an Emmy… But what about Rob? And Jen? Kate? Patty? MK? Leah? All my friends?”
Eventually, he accepts the news but breaks down crying after hanging up.

What made the announcement even more heartbreaking was the post that came just before the video.
A day earlier, the creators had shared that Tiny Chef was expecting a big call from “Mickeflodeon” (Nickelodeon), believing it would be good news. He was cleaning his tree stump home to prepare, hopeful that the call meant a green light for more episodes. However, instead of renewal, the call resulted in cancellation.
The creators posted on social media, “Tiny chefs cooking show has officially been cancelled (very unexpected) and without the support of a major network, we need crowdfunding to keep cookin’ over here.” They also thanked Nickelodeon for two “blamazing” seasons and emphasized that Tiny Chef doesn’t blame anyone at the network — he’s just sad he can’t keep hosting the show he loves.
The cancellation hit many people right in the feels. The video has gone viral, with 650k views on YouTube as of writing, and sparked heartfelt responses from fan,s including people who hadn’t even seen the show before.
One comment read, “Never seen an episode and this broke my f*cking heart oh my god just let the little man cook.” Another said, “I’m crying for a cancellation of a show I didn’t even know existed. 10/10 announcement.”
Update: He’s ok!
The day after the cancellation video was posted, the creators shared another video called ‘Tiny Chef playing his Banjo,’ where Tiny Chef is seen gently jamming to The Rolling Stones’ Paint It, Black.
The caption reassured fans, “Please know Cheffy is ok he’s just feeling his feels and says music helps him process his emotions….THANK YOU CHEFFERS for all the support you’ve shown Chef. Please keep the love and messages going. Subscribe to our Youtube channel and share with friends and family. Thank you.”

Despite losing the backing of Nickelodeon, the creators are asking fans to support the show through crowdfunding, fan clubs, and by following Tiny Chef on social media.
While the cancellation is sad news, the creative and emotional way it was shared has touched many hearts, making Tiny Chef’s story feel very real to viewers everywhere. Fans hope that with enough support, Tiny Chef will return to the kitchen and be back on their screens soon.
