The Black Label to hold K-Pop auditions in the Philippines this May

Filipino K-pop aspirants have another chance to break into the industry as South Korean talent agency The Black Label announced that it will be holding auditions in the Philippines this May.

Headed by renowned producer Teddy Park, the agency revealed via X that it will conduct a global audition spanning multiple countries, including Korea, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, the United States, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, and Japan.

According to the global audition website, the Manila audition is set for May 11. Aspiring artists can audition in one of three categories—vocal, rap, or dance—with each performance lasting one minute. Eligible applicants must be born between 2006 and 2015.

Those interested must pre-register via a Google Forms link available on the audition website before attending the onsite audition.

The Black Label is home to top artists such as BIGBANG’s Taeyang, Blackpink’s Rosé, Jeon Somi, and the newly debuted girl group MEOVV. It is also affiliated with YG Entertainment, the company behind BIGBANG, 2NE1, and Blackpink, which has been actively scouting talents in the Philippines.

With K-pop groups increasingly featuring foreign members, including those from Southeast Asia, this audition could be a stepping stone for aspiring Filipino idols to enter the global stage.
