Persons deprived of liberty at the Davao Prison and Penal Farm have completed a skills training program led by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority in Davao del Norte.

The initiative focused on financial literacy and massage therapy, which officials said were designed to support rehabilitation and prepare inmates for life after release.

The activity was organized with support from prison officials, including personnel overseeing operations at the facility, as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen inmate development programs.

TESDA trainers conducted sessions on managing personal finances and basic therapeutic massage techniques during the course.

Authorities said the training aimed to provide participants with practical knowledge that could help them secure livelihood opportunities once they rejoin their communities.

Officials added that equipping inmates with employable skills remains a key component of correctional programs under the Bureau of Corrections.

The program also sought to build confidence and promote self-reliance among participants as they undergo rehabilitation.

Organizers said similar initiatives will continue as part of broader efforts to support reintegration and reduce the risk of reoffending.
