Filipino craftsmanship took center stage in Florida as Tanduay Asian Rum Silver earned a gold medal and the coveted title of Best White/Aged Under 6 Years Rum at the inaugural Miami Global Spirits Awards (MGSA). The win headlined an impressive five-medal haul for the iconic Filipino rum brand.
Joining the celebration were Tanduay Asian Rum Gold, Tanduay 10-Year-Old Rum, and Tanduay Double Rum, which all took home silver medals, while the Tanduay Especia Spiced Rum rounded out the awards with a bronze.
“As we expand our presence in different parts of the world, these awards serve as an affirmation of the quality and craftsmanship that go into every bottle of Tanduay,” said Tanduay International Business Development Manager Roy Kristoffer Sumang. “We are proud to showcase Filipino excellence wherever we may be, and we remain committed to producing rums that reflect our heritage and innovation.”
Held for the first time this year in Sunny Isles, Florida, the MGSA gathered a panel of distinguished judges—spanning distilled spirits professionals, journalists, trade experts, and influential buyers—who conducted a double-blind tasting to ensure fairness and rigor in selecting the winners.
With its multiple wins, Tanduay continues to cement its status as one of the world’s premier rum producers, further fueling global recognition for Philippine-made spirits. Its growing trophy case mirrors its expanding international footprint, with the brand now present in major markets across Asia, Europe, the Americas, and Oceania. These include the United States, United Kingdom, Canada, Germany, China, Australia, South Korea, Singapore, and more than 20 other countries. Recently, Tanduay was also named the World’s Number 1 Rum for the eighth consecutive year.
“Each award inspires us to push boundaries and raise the bar even higher,” Sumang added. “We may have been in this industry for more than a hundred years, but our journey is far from over.”
