The Taiwan Ministry of Education launched the International Industrial Talents Education Special Program in the Philippines, an initiative linking academic training with employment opportunities in Taiwan’s expanding industries.
The program was presented as part of efforts to strengthen education cooperation between Taiwan and the Philippines while developing talent for sectors such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics, finance, and semiconductors.
Officials said the initiative was introduced to support industry-linked training and prepare students for work in high-growth technological fields.
The program offers selected Filipino students financial assistance, including tuition subsidies for up to two years, monthly living allowances, a one-way ticket to Taiwan, and support for administrative requirements.
It also includes internship placements and employment opportunities after graduation, with scholars expected to transition into work in Taiwan upon completing their studies.

The program was formally introduced during the 2026 education fair at the SMX Convention Center, which gathered officials and representatives from Taiwan and Philippine education institutions.
Among those who attended were Minn Gan Chow of the Taipei Economic and Cultural Office in the Philippines, Dr. Mildred Crisostomo of the Central Luzon Association of International Relations Officers, and Wen Yuh Jywe, Project Director of the International Industry Academia Special Program.
Also present were Dr. Maura Consolacion D Cristobal, Director of CHED Region III; Dr. Chi Chung Chou, University Vice President of NCHU; and Dr. Teody C San Andres, President of Bulacan State University, along with other education and institutional representatives.
Under the program framework, scholars are required to work in Taiwan for a period tied to their scholarship duration, as part of its goal to build a steady pipeline of trained professionals for key industries.
