SUV linked to murder of policewoman and son found in Angeles City

Police recovered an abandoned sports utility vehicle (SUV) on Friday night believed to have been used in the killing and disposal of a policewoman and her eight-year-old son.

The vehicle, a metallic gray Toyota Fortuner with temporary plate P1B676, was discovered at approximately 8:20 p.m. along Zakura Street in Deca Clark Homes, Barangay Margot.

According to a report from Police Regional Office 3, the recovery was a result of a joint operation between the Angeles City Police Station 5, the Quezon City Police District (QCPD), and the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Investigators identified the SUV as the “getaway vehicle” used to transport the bodies of Senior Master Sgt. Diane Marie Mollenido and her son, John Ysmael.

The officer’s body was previously discovered in Pulilan, Bulacan, while her son was found in Victoria, Tarlac.

The location of the vehicle was confirmed by a suspect currently in police custody. The suspect, identified as a Lalamove driver from Novaliches, Quezon City, reportedly admitted to using the SUV to dispose of the victims before abandoning it in Angeles City.

The recovery follows the recent arrest of three individuals in connection with the double murder.

Local authorities and the QCPD are continuing their investigation to determine the motive behind the killings and the full extent of the suspects’ involvement.
