For years, the nature of the relationship between Sugar Mercado and television host Willie Revillame has been the subject of speculation in showbiz circles. Now, the former SexBomb dancer has finally addressed the rumors in a candid interview on Ogie Diaz’s YouTube vlog.

When asked directly about her past with Willie, Sugar laughed before offering a playful yet honest response, “I’m not even sure! He never admitted anything!” she said with a chuckle. “It would be bold of me to admit it if he never did.”

Still joking, she added, “Maybe we were just bonding—who knows?”

But when pressed about how long they were actually together, Sugar dropped the confirmation fans have long waited for, “Yes, we were together for seven years!”

Ogie followed up, asking if she was uncertain simply because Willie never publicly acknowledged the relationship. Sugar replied, “Exactly. It’s a bit embarrassing if it’s just me admitting it, right? As a woman, I also have pride and feelings. But it’s okay—I understand that he’s a very private person.”

She went on to reflect sincerely about that chapter in her life, “I’ve never regretted anything that happened in my life. And I won’t deny it—I truly loved him deeply.”

Sugar also revealed that Willie showed genuine love not only for her but also for her two children.

“Yes, absolutely. Especially my two kids. Up to now, he remains a part of our lives. He’ll always have a place in our hearts.”

Despite this, Sugar shared that they hadn’t been in contact for a long time.

“My kids still ask about him sometimes,” she said. “I just tell them he’s busy, focused on his work. And I really have nothing bad to say about him. He loved my kids, and that’s something I’ll always be thankful for.”
As for her love life today, Sugar says her heart is no longer open to romance.

“If you ask me, I’m not looking for anything anymore. I’m happy with my kids. They’re more than enough for me.”

Toward the end of the interview, she shared a heartfelt message for fellow single mothers, “Children are never to blame for being born. We chose to bring them into this world because of love. Even if relationships end, they shouldn’t suffer for that.”

She added, “Becoming a single mom was incredibly difficult. But nothing is impossible if your mindset is right. We are our children’s role models, so I’ve always been very careful in how I live.”

Sugar appeared on the 2011 show Willing Willie (which later became Wil Time Bigtime) and reunited with Willie Revillame in 2017 on the show Wowowin after taking a five-year break from the entertainment industry.

Despite the past, Sugar now lives a life grounded in gratitude and peace—cherishing memories but looking forward with strength and self-assurance.
