
A video went viral on social media with content showing a fight between students in Bontoc, Mt. Province.
A CCTV camera captured a brawl involving a group of young people outside a restobar in the early hours of April 6.
Around 8 to 10 youths were seen shouting, shoving, and throwing punches during the altercation.
According to the police report, the victim’s group was drinking when one of the suspects approached and asked for ₱10. The other party became aggressive when the group refused, leading to the fight.
One of those involved in the brawl was a 21-year-old student who was rushed to the hospital but died on April 8 due to traumatic brain injuries.
The victim’s family is now calling for justice and the police have identified the youths involved in the incident.
Bontoc Mayor Jerome Tudlong, Jr. also called on the police and urged the public to cooperate for a swift investigation into the case.
The victim’s family has declined to give a statement for now but said they will speak to the media once they are ready.
