Paper-heavy office work may be about to get a lot less painful.
Epson has launched the WorkForce DS-530III, a new compact A4 duplex scanner built for businesses that need to digitize piles of documents quickly without sacrificing accuracy or reliability.
The headline feature is speed: the DS-530III can scan up to 40 pages per minute or 80 images per minute, while supporting a daily duty cycle of as many as 6,500 pages.
For offices regularly dealing with contracts, invoices, reports, application forms, receipts, and other paperwork, that could mean significantly less time spent feeding documents into a scanner—and more time actually getting work done.
It’s Fast, But That’s Not the Only Trick
The DS-530III also comes with an automatic feeding mode that allows users to continuously scan batches of documents, including sheets of different sizes, and save them into a single digital file.
Its one-pass duplex function captures both sides of a document simultaneously, further cutting the time needed for large double-sided scanning jobs.
Despite those capabilities, the scanner measures only 296 x 169 x 176 mm, making it suitable for offices where desk space is already at a premium.

Anyone who has dealt with a scanner chewing through an important document knows how frustrating high-volume scanning can get.
Epson is addressing that problem with built-in paper protection technology and Double Feed Detection Skip, which help detect abnormal feeds while accommodating documents with folds, stickers, and other irregular features.
The scanner also features glass dirt detection, which warns users when dirt is detected on the scanning surface. That could help prevent the annoying discovery of lines or marks only after dozens—or hundreds—of pages have already been scanned.
Ultrasonic sensors and document-length detection can also identify overlapping sheets and long documents while scanning is in progress.
It Can Handle More Than Ordinary Sheets of Paper
The DS-530III supports carrier sheets and automatic carrier sheet detection, allowing users to scan fragile or irregular-sized documents more safely.
Need to scan books, thicker materials, photographs, or delicate receipts?
The scanner can be paired with the Epson Perfection V39II flatbed photo scanner through an optional flatbed dock, creating a hybrid scanning setup without taking over an entire workstation.
Epson Is Also Throwing in the Software
The WorkForce DS-530III comes with Epson Scan 2 and Document Capture Pro, giving businesses tools to clean up, organize, and manage scanned documents.
Epson Scan 2 includes text enhancement, skew correction, and color optimization, while built-in Optical Character Recognition can turn scans into searchable PDFs with password protection.
Document Capture Pro can automatically name and sort files into folders, recognize barcodes and blank pages, and store up to 30 customized scan settings for repetitive workflows.
