St. Carlo Acutis’ Relic Arrives in PH for Nationwide Pilgrimage

A relic of St. Carlo Acutis has arrived in the Philippines and will travel to several dioceses over an 18-day pilgrimage.

The Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) said the relic, which comes from the heart pericardium of the young saint, reached Manila on Thursday from Italy. It was brought to the country by Msgr. Anthony Figueiredo, who serves as the director of international affairs for the Diocese of Assisi.

The relic will visit 29 churches and one school across Luzon from November 28 to December 15. The Friends of St. Carlo Acutis – Philippines (FSCAPh) will oversee its journey. The relic measures about 6 cm long and 2 cm high and is placed inside a reliquary that stands 33 cm tall and 17 cm wide.

St. Carlo Acutis, the first millennial saint, was canonized on September 7. He became known for using the internet and coding to spread the Catholic faith.

CBCP has released the full schedule of the relic’s visit for those who want to take part in the pilgrimage.
