LEGAZPI CITY – The Social Security System (SSS) Legazpi Branch will bring various services to remote villages in Manito, Albay on Wednesday, using for the first time facial authentication with liveness check for pensioner verification during mobile operations.
The branch’s e-wheels caravan will serve 12 far-flung barangays at Manito Community College in It-Ba, Manito town, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. on Wednesday, according to branch spokesperson Jeannette Mapa.
Mapa said the initiative supports President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s directive to deliver public services faster and closer to the people, particularly in underserved and hard-to-reach communities. Legazpi City is more than 40 kilometers away from Manito.
“The public will have direct access to our office’s services, which will reduce travel time and save on transportation expenses,” she said in an interview.
SSS will use the newly launched facial authentication with liveness check for Annual Confirmation of Pensioners (ACOP) verification during the mobile service operations, allowing eligible pensioners to complete verification faster and more conveniently without visiting SSS branches.
The mobile caravan will also offer employer registration and inquiries and verification; ACOP verification; updating of member data records; issuance of SSS numbers and forms; and online-related transactions, including My.SSS registration, password resetting, Payment Reference Number generation, pension loan applications, and benefit claim applications.
