The Red Giants are back on the EWC main stage, fueled by their dominant sweep over Homebois in the MPL Malaysia Season 15 Grand Finals.
SRG’s Gold Laner, Innocent, reigned as the MVP of the regular season, putting up 55 points to maintain his position at the top of the MVP chart. After a no-loss record in the regular season, SRG secured the slot in the Upper Bracket Semi-Final of the playoffs.
Facing AERO Esports in the Upper Bracket Semi-Final, the Red Giants dropped AERO to the lower bracket on a score of 3-1. Innocent’s aggressive Wanwan gave SRG their first win of the match, while SRG’s Mid Laner, Stormie, became MVP of the game with his Pharsa, Zhu Xin, and Kimmy picks to advance to the Upper Bracket Final.
The two strongest teams of MPL MY Season 15 met in a head-to-head series as they took the match on a game 5. The Red Giants continued to control the Upper Bracket after overcoming the 2nd-seeded Homebois in the Upper Bracket Final.
Innocent’s Moskov and Wanwan picks gave overwhelming damage in teamfights to take a commanding 2-0 lead for SRG. However, Homebois changed strategies to nullify Innocent with their crucial pick-offs and the team’s contests for neutral objectives. The Homebois drafted a surprising Minsitthar pick for the Gold Lane to counter Innocent’s Harith, supposedly, but the off-meta pick did not pay off for the team in a reverse sweep.
SRG met Homebois again for a rematch in the Grand Finals of MPL MY after the lower bracket win for the Homebois. Yet, the Homebois did not stand a chance against SRG as they finished the series with a remarkable 4-0.
The 5-man roster of SRG received individual awards—Kramm as the Best Exp Laner, Stormie as the Best Mid Laner, Yums as the Best Roamer, Sekysss as the Best Jungler, and Innocent as the Best Gold Laner and as the Final MVP of the season.
