The global K-drama wave continues to surge—and Southeast Asian fans are increasingly at the heart of it.

This year, Rakuten Viki is betting big on the region’s passion for Korean entertainment with the launch of Dive Into You, a new fantasy romance series headlined by two of Korea’s most sought-after rising stars, Kim Ji Yeon and Park Seo Ham. The highly anticipated Viki Original will stream exclusively on Viki across Southeast Asia and key international markets later this year.

But Dive Into You is more than just another romantic fantasy. It represents a growing trend in the Korean entertainment industry: creating content with global audiences in mind from day one.

At the center of the story is Yoon Ha Na, a famous actress whose life takes an unexpected turn after a near-fatal accident. Thrust back in time and trapped in the body of her twin brother, she is given a second chance to rewrite destiny. Her mission? Save her childhood friend, devoted bodyguard, and first love, Jung Woo Jae, before tragedy strikes.

Blending romance, fantasy, time travel, and emotional drama, the series taps into the kind of storytelling that has fueled some of K-drama’s biggest international hits.

Leading the cast is Kim Ji Yeon, better known to many K-pop fans as Bona of WJSN (Cosmic Girls). Having earned critical acclaim through standout performances in Twenty-Five Twenty-One, Pyramid Game, and The Haunted Palace, Kim continues to expand her influence beyond music and into acting.

Joining her is Park Seo Ham, whose breakout role in the hit BL drama Semantic Error transformed him into an international fan favorite. His growing popularity across Southeast Asia has made him one of the most closely watched young actors in Korea today.

The project also marks a significant milestone behind the scenes.

Dive Into You is the first original intellectual property drama from Dexter Pictures, the acclaimed Korean production company known for its work in film and visual effects. The series is a collaboration between Dexter Pictures, Amuse Entertainment, and Viki, with the streaming platform serving not only as distributor but also as investor and producer.

According to Jaehee Hong, Chief Content Officer of Viki, the series reflects the platform’s commitment to bringing globally resonant Asian stories to viewers everywhere.

“Dive Into You exemplifies the high-caliber Asian storytelling that resonates with Viki’s global audiences,” Hong said. “This has truly been an international collaboration, and an incredible privilege to work with Dexter Pictures and Amuse Entertainment to bring this exceptional series to the screen.”

For Dexter Pictures CEO Kim Donghyun, the drama showcases the power of combining Korean creative talent with international production and distribution expertise.

“Dive Into You is a project that brings together Dexter Pictures’ original IP creation and production capabilities, the global co-production expertise of Amuse, and Viki’s unmatched international reach in Asian entertainment distribution,” he said.

The release also underscores the importance of Southeast Asia in the global K-drama ecosystem. Fans in the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, and Malaysia will be able to watch the series with localized subtitles, ensuring broader accessibility across the region.

As Korean dramas continue to break cultural and geographic boundaries, Dive Into You arrives as another example of how global fandoms—and especially Southeast Asian viewers—are helping shape the future of Asian entertainment.

For fans of fantasy romance, second chances, and heart-fluttering love stories, this is one K-drama worth diving into.
