SMDC unveils SMDC Nature, a community where life and well-being grow together

Life feels lighter when surrounded by nature, and that’s the heart of SMDC Nature, the newest residential brand from SM Development Corporation (SMDC). Drawing inspiration from balance and calm, SMDC Nature redefines urban living through communities where greenery, accessibility, and sustainability seamlessly come together.

Launched at the Conrad Manila, the event gathered SMDC executives, partners, and future residents for an evening that celebrated a new standard in modern living—one that places wellness and connection at the center of every home.

“SMDC Nature is about building homes that make everyday life lighter, healthier, and more connected,” said Jessica Bianca Sy, Vice President and Head of Design, Innovation, and Strategy at SMDC. “Our goal is simple: to help Filipinos live well—closer to work, closer to family, and closer to what matters most.”

SMDC Nature follows the success of the developer’s previous segments, SMDC Heights and Symphony Homes, strengthening its commitment to creating thoughtfully designed spaces for Filipino families.

At the core of every SMDC Nature project is the concept of the 15-minute home—where everything essential, from schools and markets to parks and public transport, is within easy reach. This approach allows residents to spend less time on the road and more time on what truly counts. “Accessibility is part of livability,” Sy explained. “It’s about being near what you need so life becomes easier and more enjoyable.”

Every detail of SMDC Nature’s design serves a purpose. Wide, walkable paths shaded by trees, open parks, and calm green spaces invite movement and connection. Airflow, light, and communal areas are carefully planned to create a sense of peace and balance. “Nature isn’t something we add after,” Sy shared. “It’s built into how we plan our spaces—from the way air flows through buildings to how people move, rest, and connect.”

Sustainability also plays a key role. Each community integrates solar energy systems and motion-sensor lighting to cut electricity use by up to 35 percent in common areas—equivalent to preventing over 250 metric tons of carbon emissions per project. Rainwater harvesting, dual-flush fixtures, and flood-control features such as detention tanks are incorporated into developments like Charm Residences and Field Residences.

During the launch, SMDC formalized its partnership with Buskowitz Energy Inc., represented by President James Carlos P. Buskowitz, through a Power Purchase Agreement that will enable the installation of solar systems across multiple SMDC developments. The initiative supports SM Prime Holdings’ Net Zero by 2040 commitment, ensuring cleaner energy use without added cost to residents. “This partnership marks a major step toward our Net Zero roadmap,” Sy noted. “By integrating solar power, we are building homes that are lighter on resources and stronger for the future.”

Under the tagline “Where Life Grows With You,” SMDC Nature represents more than a brand—it’s a philosophy of care. Each community is envisioned as a living, evolving space that nurtures its residents, encourages wellness, and adapts to changing lifestyles. “SMDC Nature is our promise to create homes that truly nurture,” Sy said. “Homes that help people live well today, and remain valuable for generations to come.”
