The Philippines is emerging as a key player in the global wellness economy, and the SM Group says it is determined to capture more of this fast-growing market by expanding access to beauty and wellness products nationwide.

Citing data from the Global Wellness Institute, SM noted that the industry is on track to hit nearly USD 9 trillion by 2028. The Philippines ranks 13th out of 219 economies in the personal care and beauty segment—an indication of strong growth potential.

SM Retail President Jonathan Ng highlighted the sector’s broad appeal. “Beauty and wellness have shown significant growth across every demographic,” he said, emphasizing SM’s commitment to providing products and services that cater to evolving consumer preferences.

Through its retail arm SM Beauty, the group now carries over 1,000 brands across 77 branches nationwide, including premium global labels such as YSL, Lancôme, and Calvin Klein.

With rising demand for wellness, personal care, and beauty solutions worldwide, SM believes its expanding portfolio positions it at the forefront of meeting Filipino consumers’ lifestyle needs.
