SM Investments Corporation has secured a regional win after its 2024 Sustainability Report earned a Silver Rank from the Asia Sustainability Reporting Rating (ASRRAT), marking the company’s fourth recognition for excellence in transparent and accountable sustainability disclosure.
The award, given in Pasay City on December 1, highlights SM Investments’ continued leadership in embedding sustainability across its operations. ASRRAT, developed by Indonesia’s National Center for Sustainability Reporting (NCSR), is the region’s pioneering independent ratings system dedicated to advancing high-quality sustainability reporting.
SM Investments President and CEO Frederic C. DyBuncio said the recognition reflects the company’s commitment to communities and long-term value creation. He noted that sustainability remains an essential pillar of the SM Group’s strategy. “Guided by our responsibility to the communities we serve, we continue to embed sustainability into every part of our business. This recognition encourages us to keep strengthening our climate resilience, transparency, and long-term value creation for all our stakeholders,” he said.
A long-standing advocate of global reporting standards, SM Investments is among the early Philippine adopters of the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) S1 and S2 sustainability framework, aligning its disclosures with international benchmarks.
NCSR expanded ASRRAT’s reach in 2023, recognizing 68 Indonesian companies along with seven organizations from the Philippines, Bangladesh, Russia, and Australia for advancing sustainability reporting in the region.
