Everything is in place for the highly anticipated Shopwise Bikefest, set to take off on May 18 at the Vermosa Sports Hub in Imus, Cavite. Organizers are expecting over 2,800 cyclists this year—an impressive jump from last year’s 2,443 participants.
Open to riders of all ages and experience levels, the event promotes fitness and family bonding, with categories ranging from toddler-friendly routes to more challenging distances for seasoned cyclists. Riders can choose from 30 km, 45 km, or 60 km races, while younger participants aged 2 to 15 will enjoy age-appropriate courses designed with fun and safety in mind.
Shopwise General Manager Kerwin Legarde shared the company’s enthusiasm for hosting the event, calling it a platform “where people can bond, move, and make memories together.”
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience, the race will feature full support along the course, including road closures. Strict bike regulations will be enforced to keep the competition fair—fixies and e-bikes are not allowed, while road, BMX, mountain, gravel, and foldable bikes are welcome.
Princess Galura of Sunrise Events Philippines, the organizing partner, emphasized the professional execution behind the event. “With this kind of response and community enthusiasm, the bikefest is poised to become a staple in the Philippine sporting calendar,” she said.
